Across the world, industry and commerce are undergoing a technological revolution, fuelled by robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), that could bring about a step change in UK productivity whilst also transforming people’s jobs and lives. These are exciting times, but the UK is faced with significant challenges.

Amongst the most important are the need to reskill the current workforce to work safely and effectively alongside robots and AI, to train managers to understand and effectively deploy automation, teachers to have a better understanding of the technology, and to ensure that, across all levels of education, people from diverse backgrounds have the skills they need to thrive in the 2030 workforce.
